Media RSS

Yahoo! is spearheading a standard that allows you to put media-type information in an RSS feed. Most RSS feeds we use require three basic types of information:
  • title
  • link
  • description
Other information is optional. In the Media RSS 2.0 standard, you provide data like:
  • file size
  • type of media, e.g., video/quicktime
  • bitrate
  • duration
  • height
  • width
  • media player
  • transcript
This standard is starting to have support, so you might start seeing it.
